OneCloud OC923U: How to Make a Conference Call

This article explains how to start and manage a three-way conference call on the OneCloud OC923U desk phone.

Prerequisites

  • An OneCloud OC923U desk phone registered to your OneCloud extension
  • An active call with the first participant

Find the Conference Key

The OC923U gives you two ways to start a conference:

  • Conference key — a dedicated physical button. It is the top key in the column of four round keys to the left of the keypad, just below the speaker grille, and shows an icon of a group of people. The Hold, Transfer and Redial keys sit directly below it.
  • Conf soft key — a label on the bottom of the screen during an active call. Press the button directly below the label to use it.

The Conference key is highlighted in the diagram below.

Start a Conference Call

1. Place or answer a call with the first participant.

2. Press the Conference key or the Conf soft key. The first participant is placed on hold and you will hear a dial tone.

3. Enter the number of the second participant and press the Send soft key.

4. When the second participant answers, press the Conference key or the Conf soft key again. All three parties are now connected.

NotesNote: Before step 4 you can speak privately with the second participant. If they do not answer, press the EndCall soft key, then press Resume to return to the first participant.

Manage the Conference

  • Mute — Press the Mute key to mute your microphone. The other participants can still hear each other. Press it again to unmute.
  • Hold — Press the Hold soft key to place both participants on hold. Press Resume to return to the conference.
  • Split — Press More, then Split to separate the conference into two individual calls.
  • End — Press the EndCall soft key or hang up the handset to disconnect all parties.
NotesNote: The OC923U supports up to three participants (you plus two others). For larger meetings, OneCloud supports conference bridges.

For other call features, see the OC923U: Desk Phone User Guide.
